Tire Swing

I’ve got a muffin in my right hand
I’m here but my mind’s in a distant land
She’s drinking tea with my imagination
Guess she got sick of me and went on vacation
My dog told me I worry too much
Maybe he’s right I make such a fuss
I cried in my pillow all through the night
And now my neck feels stiff and tight

My dreams are tied to the boy that’s singing
I sit on my tire swing, swinging and swinging

I’m here but my mind is on vacation
Drinking tea with my imagination
My dog told me he hated the rain
I told him without it we’d all go insane
My doggy is my very best friend
I know he’ll be with me till the end

My dreams are tied to the boy that’s singing
I sit on my tire swing, swinging and swinging

I’m kind of dark. Don’t have no friends
Guess it’s a punishment for my sins
I am unloved but it don’t bother me
Cuz I know that me is all I need
Me and my doggy sit in the tree
Yes he can climb it just like me

My dreams are tied to the boy that’s singing
I sit in my tire swing, swinging and swinging

My doggy grabbed my muffin from me
Gobbled it down by the cherry tree
He lost his tail. He lost his paws
He lost his fur. And he lost his claws
He turned into a boy again
But he is still my bestest friend

My dreams are tied to the boy that’s singing
I sit in my tire swing, swinging and swinging

He gave me a kiss. He gave me a hug.
I no longer felt quite as unloved
Then he asked me how I felted
I couldn’t speak. My heart melted.
He grabbed my guitar and started singing
I sat in my tire swing and started swinging

My heart is tied to the boy that’s singing
I sit in my tire swing, swinging and swinging

Swinging and swinging
