I have lived eighty years of life and know nothing for it, but to be resigned and tell myself that flies are born to be devoured by spiders and man by his sorrows--Voltaire

Night falls as
Shadows smother the winter ground
Ice crystals in the air

Red moon rises in
Skies darkening to dark blue
Clouds on the horizon

Tiredly I stride across
Tides frozen in the snow of winter
Flakes drifting down

And I fade away

It's always raining
When you're falling...falling down
And fading...fading away like shadows
Shadows in a broken sky
Winter in my shadowland

A broken sky where
I can't tell if the sun shines anymore
Is it there at all?

Tiredly I look up to
Jump towards a brighter morning
That isn't coming

And I fade away

It's always raining
When you're falling...falling down
And fading...fading away like shadows
Shadows in a broken sky
Winter in my shadowland

And I fade away
