I'm Nobody. Who are you? Are you Nobody, too?
-Emily Dickinson

I stare out the window
Not because I'm distracted
I still feel I'm below
The ones I'm attracted to
I speak of you

And when you smile
A rare occasion
Just for a while
Everything's blazing, true
I speak of you

Cause days go by, I reach up high
As I walk down the streets of Violet Drive
To caress the clouds, to scratch the sky
Cause if I can't have you, then up I'll fly.

I scratch with my pencil
Tiny notes
I may be unkempt so
You can quote my words
Of you I've heard

I've heard so many
Tiny things
If you'd stop pretending
Start listening to me
Of you I'll see

Cause days go by, I reach up high
As I walk down the streets of Violet Drive
To caress teh clouds, to scratch the sky
Cause if I can't have you, then up I'll fly.

And can you hear my tiny voice
It reaches you so you'll have a choice
And although I lie on Violet Drive's floor
I'll reach for you; I'll reach for more

I'm still staring
Through the clear glass
Not really caring
If anything passes through
I'll dream of you

And when I look
I'll really see
It's me you took
Now catch this gleam
I'm bright
Now see the light

Days go by!
Violet Drive!
Days go by!
On Violet Drive!
