Running down the hallway,
to close to the desk.
Nothing but small play
but it turned out a mess.
I had just broke her vase
and I was only five.
When I saw the look on her face,
I started to cry.

O, please don’t stop loving me.
O, please don’t let me go.
I mess up so easily.
And I feel so low.
You’ve had it for so long
and I know what it means.
O, please Mom don’t stop loving me.

He left me one Friday night.
He had to go his own way.
I had held on to tight,
but the pain passed away.
Well, six years down the road
there was a letter on my bed.
Just one simple note,
but this is what it read,

Please don’t stop loving me.
O, please don’t let me go.
I mess up so easily
and now I’m alone.
I’ve loved you for so long
and I know what you mean.
O, please don’t stop loving me.

One night I found myself down on my knees.
Everything I’d become was overtaking me.
I felt so ashamed; I’d been living a lie.
I reached out my hands and cried out to the sky.

Please don’t stop loving me
O, please don’t let me go.
I mess up so easily.
I run my own show.
You’ve waited for so long
and so patiently.
But, please God don’t stop loving me.
