Dear Hillary

It was March 2nd, in the year 2009,
We went to school, like any other day, and everything was fine,
We were in science class, when we heard the ambulence drive by,
And all we could think about was why,
In a heartbeat, a life can be taken,
The World could stop spinning, in the blink of an eye,
If you look away, even for just a moment,
You could regret it, for the rest of your life,
She wasn't wearing a seatbelt,
She was talkin' on the phone,
She was driving way to fast,
Not paying attention to the road,
When the car lost control,
And it rolled and it rolled,
She asked herself why,
In a heartbeat, a life can be taken,
The World could stop spinning, in the blink of an eye,
If you look away, even for just a moment,
You could regret it, for the rest of your life,
Her sister was in the car,
She had her seatbelt on,
And she rolled so far,
She woke up in the hospital,
And she couldn't feel her legs,
And she asked herself why,
In a heartbeat, a life can be taken,
The World could stop spinning, in the blink of an eye,
If you look away, even for just a moment,
You could regret it, for the rest of your life,
She was talking to her father on that phone,
And when the car lost control, and it rolled and it rolled,
He could hear his daughters screams in his left ear,
And all of a sudden the line went cold,
That day might haunt him for the rest of his life,
And he asked himself why,
Why, did she have to die,
And why, why am I still alive,
And why couldn't I take her place,
And why couldn't I say goodbye,
In a heartbeat, a life can be taken,
The World could stop spinning, in the blink of an eye,
If you look away, even for just a moment,
You could regret it, for the rest of your life.

This song is beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes. My heart goes out to you and the family who lost Hillary. This was an amazing way to honor her.
