I promised you forever,
That we'd be together,
But I didn't know,
That time can go by quite so slow

So will you please forgive me,
I was only 17,
And I didn't know,
(I didn't know).

They told me nothing lasts forever,
Even you and I together,
Couldn't make it all the way,
And i'm lookin' back today

Now you and I are apart,
I don't think I heard this part,
Of the story book where everything goes wrong

They told Nothing lasts forever,
Even you and I together,
Couldn't make it all the way,
And i'm lookin' back today

Every minute every hour,
My memories have all gone sour.
If I were you i'd hate me too,
But that's why I can't keep coming back to you

Every minute every hour,
My memories have all gone sour.
Truths are few and far between,
I guess it's because we're just 17

I'm 17 years old, and this is about a high school "love" that never went anywhere, although every relationship thinks it will.
