I Left You With Nothing

Staring at tears on the pages,
of letters that I never could write.
I know love isn’t painless but it’s worth the risk it’s worth the fight.
Still we don’t see each other in the dark,
flip the switch and hope for the brighten of light.

A strangled smile fell from your face.
It kills me that I hurt you this way.
Now I know what's at stake.

(Chorus)
Your warm whispers,
round up the summer,
the way we rounded up our relationship with each other.
There’s a long road ahead,
with cracks,
with joy,
with loving,

I’m sorry I left you with nothing.

Half of my heart has a grip on the situation,
the other half is gone and I don’t know where it went.
What I meant to say was I have learned my lesson.
Open up your eyes, what have we become?

Now the time has come,
to make the decision.
Walking through a dream won’t be so easy.

(Chorus)
Your warm whispers,
round up the summer,
the way we rounded up our relationship with each other.
There’s a long road ahead,
with cracks,
with joy,
with loving,
I’m sorry I left you with nothing…

(Chorus)
Your warm whispers,
round up the summer,
the way we rounded up our relationship with each other.
There’s a long road ahead,
with cracks,
with joy,
with loving,
I’m sorry I left you with nothing

I’m sorry I left you with nothing (your warm whispers),
I’m sorry I left you with nothing (your warm whispers),
I’m sorry I left you with nothing (your warm whispers).
Whispers, whispers, whispers.

This is so heartfelt and I don't see how it could get any more personal.  I don't know of any song that begins this way either.  Glad you put it out there.  Keep up the good work!

I think you could've been more original, but there's definitely something here. If you were to revise, try making it more personal. I still liked it though... keep writing

This is very good! Although, I do know a song that actually begins with 'I'm staring at tears on the pages of letters that I never could write. And I know love isn't painless, but it's worth the risk, it's worth the fight..."
