believing is seeing
is what ive heard
i know not, to see though

the fairy tales i grew with?
the anticipation of the beared man?
the chocolates from that fabled bunny?
the monsters of autumn?

i choose to see these things
but i do not understand
why do i see
why do i hear
why, just why

ive seen worse things in this world
the pain of loneliness
the pain of hope
the pain of faith
just the pain of all lost things

i choose to see these things
but i do not understand
why do i see
why do i hear
why, just why

the wind
the fire
the water
the dirt
these are the things
i choose to see

they are the truth
they are sight
the sight of this world

for they have lived through all
lived through floods
lived through storms
lived through the rapture

rapture
ragnarok
the end
...is this what i choose to see?
the pain of failed faith
the pain of lost compassion

i do not choose to see these things
but now i understand
why i see
why i hear
i hold the truth
the truth of all

The truth you seek is the one all must come to, death will find as long as life survives.
