And There Was So Much That I Wanted To Say

When I had met you, I locked with your eyes
The color, so warm, that they made butterflies
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As the class ended and you walked away.

We joked about students, we joked about staff
And everything seemed like a very loud laugh
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you took your back pack and you walked away.

I wanted simple, but I wanted great
And it was so plain yet the most perfect date.
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you hugged me tight, and you walked away.

I started to blush, as you walked me to class
As I walked in a dream that just wouldn’t pass
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you squeezed my hand and you walked away

While you watched the screen, I stared at you
I loved my first kiss, to me it felt true
And there was so much that I wanted to say,
As you kissed my lips, and you walked away.

You played with my hair as we watched the stars
I leaned in your side, the space that was ours
And there was so much that I wanted to say,
As you cupped my cheek, and you walked away.

You stared so intensely, you said what I knew
And I cried so hard as I spoke of love too
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you wiped my tears, and you walked away.

We raced through the summer; we lurked in the fun
As I thought to myself that you must be the one
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you drove me to school, and you walked away.

You said that we’d marry, you promised me all
And we’d paint our house like the colors of fall
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you gave me a ring, and you walked away.

The world seemed to dark, as it started to dim
As life flipped on downward, I lived on a whim
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you cried along, and you walked away

I lived in the shadows ‘till you dragged me out
But I just went back in, as you tried not to shout
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you held me close, and you walked away.

We started to fight, and I started to flail
As I lived in my life that had started to fail
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you screamed in anger, and you walked away.

You said that you loved me, I tried not to yelp
As You said its over, that you couldn’t help
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you looked at me sadly and you walked away.

I cried at my nightmares, I slept in the black
I refused to believe that you weren’t coming back
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As I said hello, and you walked away.

It had been month’s, it was time to let go
But I couldn’t get up, so I stayed down low
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As I sunk faster and you walked away.

You said that you lied, that you never loved me
That I should grow up, and just let it be
And there was so much that I wanted to say
As you looked at me harshly and you walked away.

Slowly I pieced back what lived of my heart
And I stared at you always; you ripped it apart
And there was so much that I wanted to say
But as I got close, you walked away.

Now I haven’t seen you, and it’s been so long
But now I smile, I’ve got along
And there was so much that I wanted to say
But I never said it, and you walked away.

And now, that that’s over, I know what was wrong
We were to different, you didn’t belong.
And there was so much that I wanted to say
When I saw you this morning, but I walked away.
