Do you remember walking around
That old town at night,
Do you remember how we’d dance
Beneath them old streetlights
Do you remember, oh do you

The fireflies lit the way back home
Our parents up wondering where we’d gone
But they couldn’t guess
And we wouldn’t tell
I remember it all too well

And we would stay up late
Just to be alone
And how they yelled when you wouldn’t go home
We spent that summer
Testing the waters
And dreaming about what would come after…
That last summer

Senior year we took that step
Nearly died before we took a breath
I thought about college,
You thought about me
Both couldn’t wait to reach our dreams

We would make up stories
About movies and friends
Just so we could talk alone
We would stay outside
In sub degree weather
Just to kiss under the moon

And we would stay up late
Just to be alone
And how they yelled when we wouldn’t come home
We spent that summer
Testing the waters
And dreaming about what would come after…

Ohhhhhh
Yea yea

What would come after

Will there be a wedding band,
A dress, and something blue
Will our dreams play out as we’ve planned ‘em,
Or will they turn into something new

And we would stay up late
Just to be alone
And how they yelled when we wouldn’t come home
We spent that summer
Testing the waters
And dreaming about what would come after…
Yea what comes after…
Ohhhh
Yea what comes after…

What came after….

Do you remember walking around
That old town at night,
Do you remember how we’d dance
Beneath them old streetlights
