If I could be anyone
I know who I would be

I wouldn’t be some famous girl
Or be the smartest guy
And I wouldn’t choose the richest life
My whole life I could buy
No, if I could be anyone
I know who I would be
I’d be the person I know best
The one inside of me

I admire all that he can do
He’s the one I’m always running to
A hurtful mouth and a cold, hard face
A Welcoming smile and a warm embrace

He’s my enemy and my closest friend
The hand that’s there for me always and then
And it’s taken me ‘til now to see
He’s the one who brings out the best in me

This is actually based on a song I wrote about my brother. The rythm is different from the original, but I wrote a chorus and made it into a poem from there.
