Prison Home

January 6, 2010

Eyes all puff.
Eyes all red.
As he walks through the door,
Ready to bash my head.

As he stumbles towards me,
His had reaches for the wall.
Holding a drink in one hand,
He tries not to fall.

What did I do?
What did I say?
Why does he hate me?
Why everyday?

He reaches for his belt,
Points to my back
Says, “You’ve been a bad girl”
And gives me a smack.

The whiskey from his breath
Makes my eyes water.
As a tear falls down my cheek
He yells, “You horrible daughter!”

What did I do?
What did I say?
Why does he hate me?
Why everyday?

I try not to scream
As his belt pierces my skin.
But there’s nothing I can do.
No way I can win.

I did not choose him,
Maybe he didn’t choose me.
My home is a prison.
Why can’t I be set free?

What did I do?
What did I say?
Why does he hate me?
Why everyday?

I’m locked in this prison,
All day and all night.
Without any food,
Always fearing for the fight.

It’s been ten years,
Ten years down the drain.
Just think, my whole life
Has been nothing but pain.

What did I do?
What did I say?
Why does he hate me?
Why everyday?

Our eyes meet,
As his hand tightens.
Clasped around my throat,
My head lightens.

I lay on this floor,
Defeated and broken.
Tonight’s my last night.
I will no longer be his chosen.

What did I do?
What did I say?
Why does he hate me?
Why today?

Thanks but I haven't been abused.  This is just for children who have and are being abused!

Life is perfect until you sit back and realize how boring it is without risks.

I'm so sorry! I have friends who have been through this. You can do it! Keep writing! You'll feel better!
