Childhood

Staring at albums,
Of my early years,
Probably was five, didn’t have any fears,
Back then…
I didn’t have to pretend.

It was the time,
of my life,
Where the boys had cooties,
Where I still watched Barney Movies,
Had the truest friends,
Didn’t think this life would end.

But now I’m fourteen, going on sixteen,
Life isn’t as pure as it seems…

When you’re little you belong,
Life is good when you’re small,
When the skies seem so big, so blue, so tall,
But soon enough you hit the face of reality.
Never doing things that you thought that you could.

Those secrets you told, They’re about to unfold,
When you try to face the world around you, you know that
When you try to plan your destiny,
You miss your childhood.

In those years,
Nobody was deceiving,
Troubles were nothing,
And I never stopped believing,
In my dreams.
Oh so sweet.

Never gave up,
Never felt bad about myself,
I had the confidence,
I never lied to anyone else.
It was a treat.
Now, I’m beat.

Thinking that guy was kinda cute, wondering if I was kinda rude,
Life sure is crude.

How come when we’re little,
We wanna get older,
And then how come, when we’re older,
We want to be younger.
I don’t know,
what we’re doing in this place,
I don’t know,
What problems we’re trying to face,
I don’t know,
Why we think we’re a disgrace now??????

I close the album,
I’m upset with myself,
Thought that I would never be anyone else,
Now I know,
I got a long way to go,
Back to the time where…

You feel so innocent; you know you belong,
Where the time doesn’t fade away, When you know nothing’s wrong,
Where your fate doesn’t depend on,
You’re life at school,
Trying to be cool.

You know people love you, no matter what you do,
When people tell you stories, you believe they’re the truth,
And nobody has,
Any doubt in you.
I want to go back to my childhood.
