Broken Glass

By , Pinckney, MI
The mirrors cracked
Because one side shows the you we see
And the other side might be
Whats buried deep down
But you wont show that
Because God gave you one face
But you made yourself another one.

So let's see whats really there
Is it all broken glass and despair
Because the way I see it
The road you have found
Can't be any worse
Than the quick sand your sinking in.

Let's turn that dark into light
See whats on the other side
Even if its nothing,
Its better than whats showing.

So let's see whats really there
It doesn't have to be broken glass
Tred your feet on the soft grass
Because even if you've found Hell
It can't be any worse
Than the quick sand you're sinking in.

Let your mascara run deep
Staining your skin
Crying is starting new
And right now: we'll find the real you.

So let's see what's really, really there
It doesn't have to be broken glass
Shatter the mirror
Until all you see
Is the road you want to follow
So your feet
Your feet
Don't have to be
(Don't have to be)
Sinking in quicksand.

It doesn't have to be brokennn glass!
Pick up the pieces
And choose your own path
With the face you wish to wear.
