Don’t speak, liar, words on fire
I can’t see you from the smoke and flames:
I found you first,
I knew your worst,
but still I loved you anyway.

Hold your breath now, baby,
hold your breath and cover
because our world is burning down.
It’s burning…

Molded plastic hearts are beating
manufactured love, deceiving propaganda
candid photos of happy actors playing roles of love.

Hold your breath now, baby,
hold your breath and cover.
Because our world is burning down—
our world is burning…

Down.

Down.

Down.

Don’t move liar, speech on fire,
searching for you through the smoke and flames.
I found you first,
I knew your worst,
but still I loved you anyway.

You’re pleading innocent, but we both know you had a hand in this.
We both know you had a hand in this.
Yeah we both know…

You did.

You did.

You did.

Hold your breath now, baby.
Hold your breath and try to speak.

This poem is about a friendship/relationship between me and a guy I used to trust. Mostly, its about how things fell apart; it's also about choices, and how everyone is responsible for their actions in the end.
