The people leave but I stay on the road
They are scared but I have no home
Because the clouds are grey
Where is the silver on this autumn day?

The rain pours down and I wish for thunder
The trumpets blare in my head as I wonder,
How did I get to be this way?
As I walk alone on this autumn day.

I see all the sickness, see all the crying
And know that a part of myself is dying
And what can I possibly do
With the clouds overhead that loom?

Because everywhere the rain is falling
My angels scream at the demons calling
For my name, they try to pull me down
While I, myself, keep spinning around.

Spinning around.

The rain pours down and I wish for thunder
The trumpets blare in my head as I wonder,
How did I get to be this way?
As I walk alone on this autumn day.

The colored leaves that forever wander
Give me hope and they make me wonder,
How did I get to be this way?
As I walk alone on this autumn day.

Will the sons of Adam and daughters of Eve
Keep this rain from falling again on me?
Pray that in spring, the flowers bloom
And that this rain is the reason we'll have fruit.

Because I believe the bow will shine
As the rain falls down in this dream of mine.
And the ending notes are not far away
Soon, the trumpets will cease to play.

The rain falls down and I wish for thunder
The trumpets blare in my head as I wonder,
How did I get to be this way?
As I walk alone on this autumn day.

I've hope the angels will win the battle
And I'll fly to the sky to a pretty castle.
Where the rain can't fall because we're up too high
That's where I'll be for the rest of my life.

The rain slows down and I see the sky
The trumpets blare in my head as I cry.
How did I get to be okay
As I walk alone on this autumn day.

On this autumn day.

On this autumn day.
