Searching

Where have you been?

I’ve been searching all alone,

I’ve come face to face with twilight dawn,

And now I can’t go on.

So many nights,

Of restless fear and doubt,

The mirror’s right in front of me,

But I still can’t shout.

A voice unheard,

Lips unseen,

But the movement of your silver tongue,

Remains with me.

The author's comments:

I've been writing poems on and off for around two years now and this is my first time submitting anything here. With this one I focused mainly on a good rhythm rather than a consistent rhyming scheme however, I do think that there can be quite a bit taken from the lyrics.
