What is the use of a house if you haven't got a tolerable planet to put it on?
[Henry David Thoreau (1817 - 1862)

Left waiting, creating Alone
Alone in a place I call home.
My eyes are looking.
Pots, pans are cooking.
Here in my home I’m all alone.

But i'm missing something to drink.
I don't want water from the sink.
So I open the door.
Bike fast, like birds soar.
Biking fast for something to drink.

Dollars in the vending machine.
Because I want a soda, please.
The machine goes clink.
And I get my drink.
Soda from the vending machine.

I pedal my bike to my home.
Outside it's as cold as wet stone.
Eyes wide in surprise,
I might may just cry,
I almost died on my way home.

For a minivan almost hit me.
So my bike, the must have not seen.
I swerved out’ the way.
I am safe today!
From the car that almost hit me.

But everything is A-Okay!
Because I made it home safe today.
I sit on the couch.
Get my drink from my pouch.
I’m home alone, it's A-Okay!

But wait! My food is now cold.
But if I may be so bold.
The microwave hot.
For my food I had bought.
So my food is no longer cold!

Today was an eventful day.
I narrowly escaped the fray.
I have my drink.
Hot food, and I blink.
Look at this eventful day!

first attempt at a narrative poem. It was fun! Also this is a true story, I almost died getting a soda rip.
