I looked at what the clock said
Filled with tired dread
I was ready to weep
Instead of trying to sleep
I had picked up a book and read

I had read through the whole night
Trying with all my might
To finish my book
But I overlooked
The book was a foot in height

It was about 1:30 a.m. and I couldn't sleep. This popped into my mind and I had to write it down.
