Whoosh! Whoosh! Go the Leaves,
I stand and I roll up my sleeves,
I was in the woods but I wasn’t here,
Would others notice if I disappeared,
I’M LOST I’M LOST I shout from my throat,
No movement other than the leaves that float,
A sign of life is all I need,
Thoughts going through my head at crazy speeds,
I need a drink I think,
As I blink I feel my heart sink,
My knees buckle,
I fall in a puddle,
I know I’m in trouble,
I get up in a subtle shuffle,
Then begin towards the pond in a mad man hustle,
I take a muddy drink,
The water stinks,
No choice.
No anything.
I wake up to the sound of rejoice in my mother’s voice,
The authorities put my case as a high priority,
I was found in the woods within a day,
A lifetime it felt like is what I say,
Heights I thought were my biggest fear,
In the past few days it has become all so clear,
The one thing that I avoid at all costs,
Is the desperate feeling of being lost,
