Bitter Glass

I open my eyes and blink my lash
I'm staring into bitter glass
A twisted lie
A twisted truth
A bent reflection
Bending you.
A sour image
Full of flaws
I spin around to see them all
I turn my cheek to get away
But they're trapped in my mind
My flaws to stay.
A broken image
So unfair
My face, my body
Smile and hair
It's horrid
I can't look away
I pick me apart
Till I fade away.
I curl my fist, I take a swing
No, mirror, you can't control me
The shattered pieces hit the ground
With a shaking crash
And I look down.
A spiderweb of cracks and fractures
My image is much better after
I smile in the shattered pieces
At last
I stare no more in bitter glass.
