Just A Few Seconds

In just a few seconds
Impressions are made
I hope looks don't matter
It's bad hair day
Don't be turned down when I hesitate
Truth be told, I didn't know what to say
My skeptic frown is just a mask
If you knew what I was thinking
Hope you'd say it back
But chances of that are pretty damn lax
And each smiley face
Makes me feel sad
Fine, don't respond
Walk away with your friends
I've accepeted the fact
That this is the end
Come to think of it
It never began
Looking back, there's just one set of footprints in sand
Yeah, i think you're cute
Oh but you'll never know
It's hard, between awkward moments and "soooo"s
Each word sends a jolt from my head to my toes
Oh there's so much about me that you'll never know
In just a few seconds
I made up my mind
Maybe it was something in your eyes
I'm ready, calm, completely fine
In just a few seconds, there's always time.
