Inside

I'm trapped by broken dreams.
Mind bursting at the seams.
I held on to the past,
Hoped it would last,
But now I've left me behind, you see.

I can't find a way to get back,
For outside there lies a dark crack.
You see I am lost,
There’s no way across,
To avoid the consuming black.

But there is a light above,
That I believe you once called love,
Should I grab for that thread,
Or am I just better off dead?
If I am, just give me a shove.

Or save me if you can.
Reach out a helping hand.
Say it's alright,
and end the night,
And once again help me stand.
