When Fears Come Alive

A ride across the valley
led me right into my nightmarish dreams
from all around me
came horrifying screams

I stopped and looked around
to see no source of the devil noise
then to my surprise
there sat a little girl, so poise

She smiled ever so politely
with a small child-like grin
then stood up and approached me
as my blood froze from within

She approached me with ease
being sure not to spook
letting her get near
was my one and only fluke

The little girl
whispered in my ear
"Do not run...
for I am your greatest fear"

"You will not enjoy this
and you will die slow
your life is forever mine
and nobody will ever know"
