An addiction thrives,
inside these broken lives
hearts of gold melt tonight
Innocence never survives


The author's comments:
This is about growing up and how no one can stay innocent forever. It's also about how things change when you grow up and you realize you were kind of addicted to the way things were.

My favorite line: Hearts of gold melt tonight

I think it conveys that innocence is lost even better than the last line.

I also like what you said about how you were addicted to the way things were. It's very true.

This says a lot in only a few words. It is bittersweet, kind of reminiscent of the past innoncence that we cannot seem to hold on to, and still kind of optimistic about the future being bright despite it all. Very nice. (:
