The moonshine falling
over the dancing ripples
of water, sparkling
like a fairy queen
flitting about gracefully.
The loons calling out
in mournful loneness.
The fir trees looming
tall over the deep brown earth,
hovering parents-
parents sheltering their child.
Canoes sliding through
water, leaving rays
and ribbons behind them.
Paddles slipping through
the calm water’s glass.
The Boundary Waters call
adventurous hearts.
