Every bright morning
You took your lunch ‘cross the bridge
To support us, Thanks.

Her calloused fingers
Wrap around the coffee mug.
Start another day

There’s something about
Uncompleted circles that
Makes you kinda sad.

Gleeful grin of Joy
Its contagious excitement
Doesn’t ever fall

We sit on the stairs
With anticipation ‘cause
Gift-wrapped joy awaits

“Growing up is hard,”
My mom said one day. But that’s
An understatement.

Secret place to hide
To get away from it all
Finally alone.

That splattered high chair
Tells a story of struggle
That a poor mom faced

Read a fairy tale!
I’d say to my dad- but I
Never believed them

Elegant affair
Remember: act correctly
Keep those pinkies up

Time, the sandy grains
Carefully they tip and fall
Fragile hour glass

DARE TO GET IN SHAPE
JUMP ON THAT LOOMING TREADMILL
YOU CAN DO IT! WHOO!

Baby bird reaches
It begs for food from its mom
Yum. Regurgitate.

We fold napkins and
Put them on the checked blanket
Picnics are messy

I’ve always wanted
To go on the Ferris Wheel
But then I get scared

You know, when I feel
A measure of displeasure
I stick my tongue out.

Q’s an imposter
Tries to be O, with a tail.
Stupid fancy tail.

The Perfect Tree-House
With a window and a slide
Children play inside

Masking, covering
What you’re pretending to be-
Face you let them see

Brothers old and young
Young tries to keep up with old
But unsuccessful

Half empty? Half full?
Optimist or pessimist?
How do you live life?

Those cheap paper cups
They’re in the dentist’s office
So freakin’ flimsy

With glee I stepped in
To my first pair of high heels
I feel so grown up

Hourglass figure
Skipping meals to achieve it
What have we come to?

I know it is wrong
But the pressures much to strong
Man up, take a sip

Curvy Winding Road
Twists and turns till the end where
Our house is waiting
