A blanket of white
Chilly, peaceful, beautiful
Covers all the brown

The author's comments:
During the winter all the trees are dead and brown. Without the snow, it's kind of miserable, but when the snow covers everything, it looks pretty and quiet. All the dead trees are covered up!
