I hop on my phone
Poetry dot org is where I go
I sit down for an hour and sift through the website
I could have easily written something better in that time
But there’s nothing good about a poem, about a lime

When I hit the copy text I get a good feeling
A feeling of
satisfaction
I press paste on that empty document and no one can tell
That I’m not the middle aged man that wrote this poem
When people ask for my inspiration

I say nothing but a magician doesn’t reveal his secrets
But little did they know that  Bob Johnson from Iowa wrote them
Until I submitted a poem about riding my tractor around the farm
And forgot to replace the state Iowa with Florida

Oh well
I guess it’s back to doing my own work
