An Open Letter to Heartache
Dear Heartache,
You come in many different forms.
All of them leaving wounds that will eventually heal and scar.
One of your forms is death.
When you sweep in and take the life of someone we love
And all we are left with is their memory
And you.
Breaking relationships is another one of your specialties.
Hurting the person who was nothing but a pawn.
Causing people to be rejected, hurt, and left.
You come in the form of a new friend,
But not one of our own.
You come and take away the person we have known forever,
The one we consider our sibling, the one closest to our hearts and you rip them from us
With your malicious schemes.
Not only these, but you come in the form of disappointment.
Receiving news that you were rejected from something you applied for,
When you get a gift and it isn’t the object that you expected,
Or when life doesn't give you what you want.
Though you may leave, we know you are never truly gone.
Regretfully,
Anonymous
