Scroll Through Memory Lane

I scroll through my pictures
and soon am whisked
back to Wiesbaden, Germany
where I am grinning
at the camera
alongside Emma, Mom, and Bruce.

I hold my stracciatella and lemon gelato
in one hand,
and a sprite bottle in the other.
The white spot of gelato on my nose
a sharp contrast to my skin,
tan from a week
in the Italian sun.

“Abby!” my mom shouts,
and  I return to the present,
my heart happy.
