dying leaves with a sunset hue
falling through the apple-scented air,
set fire to the vast cloud-soaked blue,
leaving the crying branches bare


If like the leaves, I died gracefully 
and sprawled beneath a tree dead,
would you remember me
if I painted myself yellow and red?
