“There something hidden in all of us. Small gift waiting to be discovered.” ~Jacqueline Woodson

Buzz.
The sound of
laughter,
Joy,
And,
Cheer.

You can hear
different sounds
Through
different ears.

Cheer.
Smiles are plastered on the colorful array of
People.
Sometimes fading or even fake, but thats okay.
Someday someone will notice,
Try to change it,
or throw it
Away.

Hum.
The hum of gossip is different from the buzz of coverstating.
People could criticize or compliment, buts thats okay.
Someday someone will notice,
Try to change it,
Or throw it
Away.

Music.
The beat in the street keep people
Moving,
Never stop groving.
To the people who inspire,
just want that as their desire.
Unless people bring out the sadness in their emotion.
Unless people point out the world’s nightmares, but that’s okay.
Someday someone will notice,
Try to change it,
Or throw it away.

Someday when the stars are brighter,
Not blocked by the CO2.

Someday when the grass is greener,
Not poisoned by pesticides.

Someday,
Maybe someday,
The world could take off the horrid mask,
Hiding all the misunderstandings and assumptions that are
True.
But for now i'm stuck
On this fake bike
On this fake street
Surrounded by these fake people
For now.

I  used a New York Times Magazine picture prompt for this free verse. The image was very colorful, filled with vibrant colors that seemed fake to my eye. I wrote this poem in the perspective of the biker in this cartoon, and his look on the feelings that surround!

Unfortunately, I could not insert the picture on this page, but you can look up NYT picture prompts and browse the inspiring picture prompts there!
