To Be a Woman
To be a woman is not the clothes that you wear.
To be a woman is not how you style your hair.
To be a woman you don’t have to know the latest fashion.
To be a woman you don’t have to be filled with passion.
To be a woman is being scared to walk on the streets.
To be a woman is feeling obligated to be sweet.
To be a woman is to feel oppressed,
But be afraid to say something for fear of causing a mess.
To be a woman is to wear whatever you feel.
To be a woman is to love with zeal.
To be a woman is to carry a child.
To be a woman is to be free and wild.
To be a woman is to empower others.
To be a woman is to be a mother.
To be a woman is to wow them with knowledge,
And to prove them all wrong when you get into college.
A woman is strong,
And we’re “never wrong.”
We walk as a whole with one common goal,
Where me becomes we, and we are all free.

I was inspired to write "To Be a Woman" because I feel constantly conflicted in my role as a female. Everybody in society seems to tell me something different, so I decided I would write what being a woman means to me. I will write my own rules for myself and my life as a female.
