The Dock
I went down to the dock, and what did I see?
That the ocean was still there waiting for me
Its crisp salty breeze pulled me into an embrace
The cool snap of misty waters enticing me to join with haste
The rush of its beauty greeting me all at once
Awakened within me a deep reflectance
Its splendor ripped away all heartache and pain
And told me that everything would be okay
This throbbing I felt deep in my soul
Had picked at me until my insides felt raw
But now when gazing out into the sea
I felt as though I could finally breathe
I began to question all I had done
Only to realize my life had just begun.
