Yes I am a kid but that isn’t the deciding factor
My age shouldn’t be the gate between staying silent and being heard
For my hurt to you is a toxin
When it starts to seep out of its resting place as molten lava
It creates calluses on my broken heart
Wishing to myself the age gap would close
For today I gave it all away
No longer allowing myself to feel
For it might be a banana peel
That you might slip on
My hurt
I can’t even take a much-needed break
