You ask me why I choke on words
Why they fall from my lips like rose petals fall to the floor
Maybe it’s because I can’t breathe without inhaling your stigma, without inhaling your judgment.
It's hard to talk when you can no longer force yourself to breathe.
Maybe words cling to my lips before falling to the floor because it is hard to talk with confidence when you are told everything you say is wrong.
