A nostalgic wind replaces your last step
Too many words left unsaid
No longer here but
My heartstrings are still pulled
By you and the memories
Lingering like the aftertaste of coffee
I cannot forget
The way you spoke my name
Now all I am left with is
An echo
Of what could have been
And yet the warm tears fade to
A bittersweet smile
Thank you for teaching me
The lessons of love and loss
