My worst enemy
is the voice in the back of my head,
the voice that says that I’m not enough,
that I will never be enough.
My worst enemy
is that broken feeling
when the people I care too much about,
don’t care for me at all.
My worst enemy
is when I look at my work
and feel hopelessly useless,
as if there’s nothing that I could do right.
My worst enemy
is the raging jealousy that takes me over
when I don’t get what I want,
but someone else does.
My worst enemy
isn’t some demon or creature from hell—
My worst enemy
is me.
