I feel you in my nightmares
The exquisite pain
That brings me joy
To feel your hand in mine
To hold your face
To look into your eyes
Is to pluck my heart strings
Like those of a guitar
I cannot visit you anymore
To be with you is to remember
Remember all the reasons I fell in love
In the first place
To hear your voice
Is to listen to the sound I want to
Fall asleep to
For the rest of my life
The exquisite pain is here

Drugging me into ‘just best friends’
Dragging me into loneliness
