Music fills the empty square, calling curious people from their homes
It surrounds the small houses and calls children to the window
It calls shopkeepers out and the women from their sewing
It calls the men from the bars and their work

Music surrounds him
The man who sits, cross legged in the middle of it all
The man who plays his tune without shame in this small town
The man who scans the gathering crowd with a glowing smile

Music brings children out from their mother's skirts
They grab one another and run through the crowd to see him
They linger at the edge of the circle around him, watching from afar
They smile more brightly than ever before

Music reaches her ears, bright familiar music
She runs to the square in her blue dress
She holds her flowers tightly to her chest
She drops them at the sight of him

Music makes the children laugh
Fathers lift their children to their shoulders
Fathers are as eager to see the man as the children
Fathers dance with their little girls

Music fills every crevice and dark shadow of the once quiet town
A town that now pulses with the sound of guitar and sweet notes
A town that once was quiet and caused travelers unease
A town that was caked in shadows and fear of the night

Music has a way to change a town and its people
People who had lived in fear of one another
People who stayed away from the square
People who now danced hand in hand

Silence.
The music stopped. The end of the song.
The town fell back into quiet
The people moved away from each other

Silence.
The man scanned the crowd for her and finally broken, could no longer play
The man looked at his instrument and put it down on the cobblestones
The man listened to the quiet and watched the separating people

Silence.
She takes a silent step forward
She holds a single flower in her hand
She places the flower in the mans hat on the ground

Silence.
It surrounds the small houses and sends children back to their houses
It causes shopkeepers to return to work and mothers to resume sewing
It causes men to retreat to the bars and work

Silence.
That's all they hear when their eyes meet
That's what surrounds her when she steps forward
That's what he hears when he looks at her

Music bursts through the silence when his finger brushes the guitar string
She begins to dance and the man begins to play
She smiles as her bare feet spin and the man plays louder and happier
She watches him and the man watches her

Music fills the empty square, calling curious people from their homes
It surrounds the small houses and calls children to the window
It calls shopkeepers out and the women from their sewing
It calls the men from the bars and their work

Music bursts from the pair
The pair create music for the town
The pair have finished their search
The pair have found one another once again

Music fills empty hearts of the town
The town watches her dance
The town watches the man play
The town dances and chases their shadows away

Music never leaves the town in silence again
The pair live in the small town
The pair dance and play every evening in the town
The pair live happily together

Music keeps their love alive and keeps the town from darkness
She picks flowers and dances
The man makes hats and plays his music
The town dances hand in hand nightly, no haunting shadows
Music saved the town and saved the lives of them
