"Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law; but if someone puts a hand on you, send him to the cemetery." - Malcolm X

"Stars on their skulls,

faces blurring out of perfection

Let's waste no time,

Let's end them all,

let the purest race begin"

Those creatures cling to their mothers

Some of whom are ashamed

Of the machines they created, that must be terminated

Because of them share broken parts

Some don't fight back as they are carried away

The people with cursed symbols hide in the shadows

Because in the light, the pride for their difference

Shines for all to see, and they are beaten for it

Because their brains full of other, selfish dreams

Couldn't be cleaned

We hear all of this

And us, the monsters, they say,

Are the ones afraid

The author's comments:

This poem, "Symbols" is a refrence to the Holocaust.  Mostly I'm writing this because of all the Holocaust denial that's going around on the internet.  You know people say that when you lose someone, the best thing you can do is remember them, even when they're gone?  And yet some are choosing to forget...oh, right, 6 million people.  And that's just the estimated number of the Jewish people that died.  To really get the number of causalties you'd have to add American soldiers, German soldiers, Soviet Union soldiers, prisoners with physical and mental disabilities...the list goes on.  So this was written for both the people that died in the Holocaust, and also for the people choosing to remember one of the darkest parts of our history.

Sorry for the long explanation :)
