Best Friends
I am no one’s best friend,
that I know.
I know,
I know that I will never be.
Resigned to sit and dream,
empty hopes filling my head
of a life a I know is pure fantasy,
where there is someone close to me,
and I, close to them, can share our hopes and dreams.
But the person closest to me is no one.
The person who knows me is no one.
The person I confide in is no one.
The person that knows my feelings is no one.
At least, I know,
No One will always be with me.
In nothingness I find my only friend.
