"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are" -E.E. Cummings

It's been a long time maybe
Mom says that you were busy
But last time I checked
Everybody has time to breathe

Mom says you missed me
But all you said when you saw me was
“You've grown”
Yes I have grown, that’s how body’s work
Would you like me to tell you how
“You’ve  shrunk”

It was Tuesday
I was seven

Twelve degrees
I was eating strawberries

While you were gone
I went on an airplane
And Mom and I danced to
Hey Jude  in my bedroom

While you were gone
I grew tomato plants
And Mom and I ate them
And all the while, forgot about you.

This poem came to me at a time when i felt kinda lost, so it's about someone who has left.  Someone you cant get back. and how you dont have to forgive them if your not ready to do that.
