Hello happiness,
Goodbye sorrow
I saw you today
And I’ll see you tomorrow
I bid you farewell,
Addio, Adieu
I pray the day treats thee
As I would you
I know you are not gone
Not in the slightest
For it was my light you snuffed
And mine was the brightest
But I cannot lament
Not on this very day
When sadness has gone
And happiness can play
And I know it to be rude
But I know it to be true
I say goodbye, sadness
Addio, adieu
