Morning dew sat delicately upon the cacti
while a gentle breeze
carried the scent of juniper.
There wasn’t a sound
but the tranquil chirping of birds
and my repetitious breathing.
A sign of a hike well done.
A deep rumble echoed throughout the valley.
A brightly colored car roared as it emerged.
The massive vehicle read Desert Tours.
Morning dew sat upon the cacti,
As they were smashed by
oversized black tires.
A door opened
and tourists poured out.
A gentle breeze
carried the scent of sunscreen
and perspiration.
There wasn’t a sound
but the whining of children
and snapping of shutters.
