Passion once sat alone
an island isolated by miles of sea
a prisoner in solitary confinement
lonely.

Then we found each other and passion began to flourish
he became strong
he walked with a purpose
he spoke with encouragement
his confidence was almost contagious.

He was a zealous leader
as a team captain would lead his team to victory
he fought fervently
as a soldier fights for his country
he was grounded in ambition like the roots of a mighty oak tree
he motivated me to do more.

As time passed our friendship waned
my apathy began to grow
We drifted apart
like a iceberg breaks from a glacier and floats into sea
he is no longer apart of me
And we are strangers again.

Passion once again sat alone
an island isolated by miles of sea
a prisoner in solitary confinement
lost.
