I waited for the words,
for them to fall from his lips.
Like chocolate and syrup,
filling my heart to the brim.

I waited for the words,
the ones that would comfort me.
Sweet promises of what we will be.
Our forever and always.

I got the words,
they were poured down my throat.
Toxic and venomous,
they infected and polluted my soul.

I got the words,
the ones to destroy me.
The acidic poison of what we can never be.
Our forever dissolved.

I used the clapping emoji. I just wanted to make sure you knew that I really like this.
