My family and I walk into the glass-enclosed garden.
The prevailing smell of a fresh tropical garden wafts?like a humid day in Hawaii.
The cascading waterfalls and the soothing sounds of tranquil music fill our ears.
The delicate creatures flutter high, low, and window to window.
Our eyes widen as butterflies fly in front of our noses.
Colorful waving wings of the rainbow
swooping, soaring, and settling.

Monarchs glow like fire,
bright blue as deep as the ocean, and
dark brown like firewood.
They fly around our heads, faster than the next.
People wait for one to land on their hand.
One lands on me?children stare, mesmerised?
swooping, soaring, and settling.

They free-fly around our bodies.
We are in awe of how many there are.
Butterflies raise their veined wings,
landing on every branch.
They use their slender legs,
wandering across leaves.
Swooping, soaring, and settling.

As we walk toward the exit,
the tropical garden smell lingers with us,
the flowing waterfalls sound remaining in our ears.
We wave goodbye to the wonderful winged works of art.
Taking one last look at the colorful, patterned butterflies,
I still see them continue
swooping, soaring, and settling.
