"Ignorance is the bottom brick of prejudice." -Amanda Nichols

I asked mother, why couldn’t I leave
She let out a sigh of despair,
She’s explained before, A million times
Yet I wanted to know once more,
“My young foal, you should know
Your small hands can’t hold this world
For you are too young,
The world is big, yet your heart is bigger,
For you aren’t ready, your heart would shatter,
You shan’t rush, young foal
You are a precious jewel in the eye of this world
To me you are my young foal,
I wish’d you to stay young for that wish is far gone
For someday I know those hands will grow
They will grow to hold this big world
But until then, hold your dreams,
Hold them close, young foal,
For when you are ready, those dreams fade.”

Thinking about what my mother has told me since a child, I felt that I needed to grow up. But getting older isn't as fun as it seems.
